Located in a deep bay, Soline offers fine marine environment for swimming and diving; the clear sea, the surroundings of peace and tranquillity make it a nice resort for a peaceful vacation. A nice sandy cove surrounded by a grove, Saharun, lies south of Soline, on the coast of the island, overlooking the open sea.
 

SOLINE, a town in the bay of Soliscica in the northern part of the island Dugi Otok, 2 km west of Bozava; population 124. First mentioned in the 12th century as one of the oldest settlements on the island; it was named after salt-pans which existed in the bay of Soliscica since the ancient times. Chief occupations include farming, viniculture, olive growing, fruit growing and fishing. Soline lies on the regional road running along the island.
 

The church of St. James was first mentioned in the 15th century; reconstructed in the 19th century.
